Don’t forget our open day and club fun shoot on Saturday 12th May with the usual array of fun targets and probably some grub as well. We would like to invite all members and any member of the public who would like to attend to learn more about our sport.
A big thank you!
Just to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped today with the range maintenance.
The car park is now laid and we have hard standing for our vehicles, the portacabins and firing point are painted and looking fantastic (keep an eye on the forum for pictures later today, once I’ve dived in the shower
)
Pictures now uploaded have a look here.
A special thank you to Jim Passmore’s wife for bringing up the goodies, they were most appreciated.
MayPole Shoot/Open Day.
A reminder to everyone that our open day is next week, there will be burgers and sausages etc and all are welcome including spouses and members of the public.
Maintenance day / 1 day Range closure
All help will be gratefully appreciated!
As posted previously, Saturday 5th May is our yearly maintenance day.
There is lots of work to be done, including painting the clubhouse exterior, treating the firing point, securing the 40yd backstop and spreading scalpings for the car parking area.
We would appreciate any help you can give, bring paint brushes/rollers a spade or two and get stuck in. Even if you can only make tea and lend moral support that would be appreciated as well!
Working party/Day range closure
As usual we have a need to close the range for one day to carry out maintenance. This is planned for Saturday 5th May. We appreciate any members who can help to come and muck in. Securing of backstops, painting and all the usual sort of stuff.
Maypole Shoot & Open day.
There will be an open day and club fun shoot on Saturday 12th May with the usual array of fun targets and probably some grub as well. Details are to be finalised at this time but we would like to invite all members and any member of the public who would like to attend to learn more about our sport.
Other news.
The indoor range now has new, brighter lighting (thank you Peter) making it much better for the pistol shooters.
Members who wish to shoot during the week no longer need their own insurance as our NSRA insurance covers them. There will shortly be a notice in the clubhouse that we ask that all weekday shooters put their names to so we can keep a track of who is likely to be up during the week.
Wedgnock shoot postponed
Due to the adverse weather conditions todays shoot at Wedgenock has been postponed till March 3rd
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT AGM New date.
Due to unforeseen circumstances the AGM had to be postponed
The new date is Saturday 18th February at the Woodford range. ~10:30am
This will be the final opportunity for those who have not paid their membership fees to pay up, after this deadline you will have to pay guest fees when you shoot. This deadline has been extended by a fortnight due to the problem in holding the AGM
As Peter Huk is standing down this year, there is also a place on the committee, nominees seconded by another member should be given to the committee as soon as possible. We would especially like someone with experience in obtaining funding etc but this is by no means essential.
What is essential is having the willingness to give a little time to the running of the club!
Annual General Meeting
The AGM will be held at Woodford Range on Saturday 4th February 2012 ~10:30, can I encourage all members to attend so they can voice their opinions and suggestions for the club in the forthcoming year.

Happy new year!
2012 is here at last, unfortunately that means it’s renewal time.
I think everyone will agree that we have had an interesting and busy 12 months with the erection of a clubhouse and indoor 10m range as well as buying some new equipment, this hasn’t been a cheap exercise but as I posted earlier in the year membership fees (and range fees) have not increased for 2012, and stay at £55 for a full member, £40 for Senior/Junior & £110 for a Family (2+2)
(Don’t forget we put the range fees down last year as well, so these are 2009 prices!)
Can everyone make an effort to get their renewals to Kevin Poncia or one of the other committee members by the end of January please. Cheques should be made payable to East Northants Shooting Assoc.
(Thank you to those who have already paid btw!)
One day Range closure for maintenance
This is advance warning that there will be a one day closure of the range in the near future to erect a fence to the right hand side of the range and carry out other maintenance as needed.
As ever we will be asking for volunteers to help out and as soon as we have a fixed date I will post it on here. (It will likely be before the end of February)
Merry Christmas!!!!
On behalf of the committee can I wish all our members a very merry Christmas and a happy new year.
Our first 15 months have been eventful with huge changes including the indoor range and clubhouse. We have more ideas which will roll out over the next year and improve the club even more, so here is to a busy 2012.
